Information:
On Monday, December 15, 2025, at approximately 10:10 p.m., the Rialto Police Department Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call reporting a shooting inside a residence in the 3400 block of North Grapewood Avenue.
Officers responded to the scene and located an adult male victim inside the residence. The victim was unresponsive and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the head and upper torso. Rialto Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the victim deceased at 10:21 p.m. due to obvious signs of trauma.
Rialto Police Department Detectives were called to the scene and have assumed the investigation. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. Preliminary information indicates that a brief argument occurred between the victim and the suspect moments before the shooting.
The suspect later turned himself in to law enforcement and claimed responsibility for the shooting. This incident appears to be isolated, and investigators do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public. The suspect was charged with PC 187(a) – Murder and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
