EVERY 15 MINUTES
The Rialto Police Department proudly organizes and participates in programs and events which enhance the community and affirms their confidence that the department does more than just enforce laws.
THE TRAFFIC COLLISION
During the second half of the day, an extremely realistic traffic collision scene is created. Everything from vehicle placement, damage, and debris is put in place as it would be at a real scene. Students have injuries with prop blood and wounds placed on their body, and then they take their positions in and around the mangled vehicles.
LIFE CAN END QUICKLY
As sirens can be heard in the distance getting eerily louder, the realism of the effects of drinking and driving or texting and driving becomes very real to those students watching this educational presentation.
As police, fire, and emergency medical personnel begin life-saving efforts, it becomes very quiet as students watch their friends dying on the roadway.
IF NOT ENDED, CHANGED FOREVER
The teen driver responsible for causing so much grief completes field sobriety tests, which they inevitably fail due to their level of intoxication. The rest of their life changed the minute they got behind the wheel, and it only continues to get worse for everyone involved.
EVERYONE'S SENTENCE IS FINAL. EVERYONE...
Every fifteen minutes someone in the United States dies from an alcohol related traffic collision, and today I died. I never had the chance to tell you…….”
A MOTHER’S ANGUISH.
AN OFFICER’S FEAR.
A COMMUNITY’S LOSS.
Whether you are a teen or an adult, please do not drink and drive.
