Information:
On Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 11:40 p.m. hours, the Rialto Police Department Communications Center received a report of a single-vehicle traffic collision in the 1200 block of West Renaissance Parkway. Officers arrived on the scene at approximately 11:42 p.m. Rialto Fire Department personnel arrived minutes later and pronounced Roberts, the sole occupant, deceased at the scene at 11:52 p.m.
Based on the initial investigation, it is believed Roberts was involved in a hit-and-run collision in the City of Fontana before this incident. Roberts was actively fleeing from the collision in the City of Fontana, when he collided in the City of Rialto. During his flight, Roberts drove at speeds more than 80 mph disregarding several red lights, until he lost control of his vehicle. This loss of control led to the vehicle veering off the roadway and colliding with a block wall. The investigation is ongoing and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision.
