Rialto, Calif. – The Rialto Police Department conducted a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint on Friday, August 19, 2022, in the 300 block of S. Riverside Ave. from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. During this checkpoint, the Rialto Police Department made a total of 11 arrests and issued 57 citations.
During the checkpoint, 24 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 1,286 vehicles were contacted. Five people were arrested for other criminal charges to include narcotics possession and active warrants.
Checkpoint locations are based on a history of crashes and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired. The Rialto Police Department is committed to keeping the public safe when they are traveling.
Rialto Police Department will hold another DUI/Driver’s License checkpoint on September 2, 2022.
