Rialto Police Lieutenant Paul Stella

Lieutenant Paul Stella has 20 years of law enforcement experience. He possesses a Masters Degree, graduating with honors, in Emergency Services Administration and a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. He is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute, Class #380. He is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, American Investigative Society of Cold Cases, California Homicide Investigators Association, California Narcotics Officers Association, National Tactical Officers Association, and the International Association of Undercover Officers.

Lieutenant Stella has worked and held supervisory roles in a variety of assignments to include Patrol, Gangs, Narcotics Unit, DEA Task Force Officer, Investigations Division, and the SWAT Team. He has created a number of department “firsts” to include the Cold Case Homicide Unit which has solved six previously unresolved homicides, the department’s Awards Program, SWAT Tactical Explosive Breaching, and “Request-A-Training;” a training partnership between the police department and business community.

Lieutenant Stella is a former “Officer of the Year” and was a member of a SWAT entry team that was honored with a National Valor Award for successfully rescuing a hostage from an armed gunman. He has also developed and executed numerous large scale operations and nuisance abatements that have improved the community’s quality of life.
