Rialto Police Lieutenant Dean Hardin

Lieutenant Dean Hardin’s law enforcement career includes over 25 years as a police officer with the City of Rialto and four years active military service with the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Infantry. Lieutenant Hardin is a Gulf War Veteran and a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute, Class #227. Lieutenant Hardin holds a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Lieutenant Hardin is an adjunct instructor for Everest College, teaching subjects such as Criminal Evidence, Policing in America, Criminology, and Terrorism.

Lieutenant Hardin has held a variety of assignments, to include: Patrol Officer, Gang and Narcotics Investigator, Detective, and Internal Affairs. As the Street Crime Attack Team (SCAT) Supervisor, he coordinated the City’s first two gang injunctions. Lieutenant Hardin is a court recognized gangs and narcotics expert and is a member of the California Narcotics Officer Association and the California Gang Investigator’s Association.

Lieutenant Hardin is a watch commander and is responsible for Area Command 4, which covers everything south of Foothill Boulevard, and east of Lilac Street.
